An urban legend I heard in Ishgard...

Ishgard is a city on stilts... It's tall, and deceptively deep.
No matter how often I'm assured it's stable, I've always been afraid it could collapse.

Basements are common. Only those on the upper levels are lucky enough to have their own roofs.
Windows look out into windows, on occasion, but more often it's to the pillars holding up the city.

So. It's not surprising to me that the Wall Creeper came to be, even if it's only an urban legend.
You might have heard of it, if you've been around the Brume.

They say it strikes only at night, only when you're most comfortable and warm, and think you're safe.

When the lights are out, an eerie glow seeps in from your window. Most ignore it and roll over...
But if you were to check, you'll probably never sleep again.

The glow comes from an eye, or, according to some, a pair of eyes.
They stare in at you from the window, so close, you can't see anything but them.

The Wall Creeper is said to be some sort of Deepeye, but lanky and over sized.
Supposedly it climbs the city's walls, choosing a room to stare into each night.
And those who have seen it's gaze are unable to look away until morning.
After that, every whisper and glance feels like daggers.
Even in their own homes, the Wall Creeper's victims feel as though someone is watching.

I've never seen it. But, one of the gals at the Manufactory did.
Not long after, she eventually stopped coming in for some reason...

I would like to make more urban legends, I think the city states could use them.
However, please note that all short stories are inspired by lore, but original and shouldn't be treated as educational.
